Reocurring Dream
As a child I had this strange reocurring dream, my childhood home was a fixer upper, my parents and I slept in the back room because it was the only place in the house with heat at the time. We would go once a week to get take out and rent a movie from the local blockbuster, and I always picked Narnia. We would huddle around the tiny box television in the corner and pretend that it was the first time we had ever watched that movie. For years I had this dream about a cameraman slowly walking into the room and zooming in on multiple tiny box TV sets showing an advertisement for green sneakers. A few years later i decided to paint my dream because I thought it would be a cool concept, and it is. I never figured out what the dream was about, though it is still one of my favorite paintings.
